Overview
Raha sits on a cliff-backed stretch of coast in Zanzibar. The client needed one partner to plan the whole site, design every building and produce the visuals that would sell it to investors and early guests.
We zoned the plot, designed circular timber-screened villas in eight layouts, created the oceanfront restaurant as the social heart of the resort, and delivered rendered brochure plans plus photoreal day and sunset views. The resort is now under construction.
The site & masterplan
A long coastal plot between the main road and the ocean. We zoned it into an arrival and staff zone on the road side, a green belt of villas in the middle and an oceanfront strip for the restaurant, pool and beach club. Every villa sits about 20 m from the next for privacy, shade and sea breeze.
The oceanfront restaurant
The social heart of the resort. A terraced pool deck with a central fire feature leads into a timber-ceilinged dining hall that opens fully to the sunset. A woven-texture buffet, a curved bar and a rooftop lounge complete the day-to-night journey.
Eight villa types
Circular villas wrapped in timber screens, each with its own pool or jacuzzi. We designed eight layouts, from garden hideaways to two-bedroom oceanfront residences, and drew every one as a rendered top-down plan for the sales brochure.
Inside the villas
Warm timber floors, woven pendants, ocean-teal accents and canopy beds. Interiors stay simple so the view does the talking, with bathrooms that feel like a spa.
From render to reality
Raha is now under construction. These site photos show the circular timber-screened villas and stone garden walls taking shape exactly as they were designed and rendered.
